The best place in England to see, hear and smell sea birds!

Each year, 250,000 of them flock to the cliffs between Bempton and Flamborough to find a mate and raise their young.

From April to August, the cliffs are alive with nest-building adults or young chicks taking their first faltering steps. Between mid-April and mid-July, the much-loved puffin also makes its home here. You can get close to the action from six, safe cliff-edge viewing platforms. Inside the seabird centre there’s an exciting exhibition area, large TV screens screening live images from the cliffs along with a well-stocked shop, including the best selection of binoculars and scopes on the East Coast.

We sell light refreshments including a wide range of fresh sandwiches and baguettes, cakes, crisps, hot and cold drinks, ice-creams and chocolate bars – in fact, everything you need for a picnic. We have a decked area overlooking the reserve with tables and chairs and wheelchair accessible picnic tables and benches.

With huge numbers to watch, beginners can easily learn the difference between gannets, guillemots, razorbills, kittiwakes and fulmars.
